This question is not clear. To enter text in a cell, click on the cell and type your text. If the text is too long to display in the cell, you can make the column wide enough to display the text. Another option is to format the cell to wrap text.
If there is nothing in the cells to the right, it is not a problem. You could widen the cell's column. You could wrap the text. You could create new lines in the text using Alt - Enter.

Use the Wrap Text command in Format, Cells dialog. If you want to break the text in a specific place, put your cursor at that point and press Alt+Enter.
First select the cell(s) you want to wrap text in. The go to the format menu and click Cells, or press Ctrl-1, and then Alignment and the tick the Wrap text box. Text can then stay in a cell and wrap around into it onto more than one line and staying within one cell.
