If it is the intake manifold, there will be vacuum leaks, backfire, and poor performance. If it is the exhaust manifold, you will have loud exhaust noise which may warrant a citation - also, emissions control laws will be violated. Take the manifold ro a shop where it can be re-surfaced or try to find a product at your local auto parts store that will help seal the manifold. - Good luck.
I just replaced a 2001 Saturn automatic transmission for about $2500. Wasn't a salvage transmission, so it cost a good bit more.
Intake manifold vacuum leak.
Are the belt and belt tensioner in good condition? Are the tires properly inflated?
check oil and oil pressure if good sell it
This is a common problem for all Saturn S-Series 2000-2002. The plastic intake manifold cracks at the coolant stems, even if the engine does not overheat. This is especially true in the southern half of the US (hotter climate). The intake manifold would need to be replaced, or repaired so no further damage will occur like overheating the engine. CarSaturn of Conyers, GA sells a repair kit to fix this problem- Worked for me. Link is below www.carsaturn.com Good Luck!
vacuum or air intake hose leaking or disconnected or loose...? good luck:)
It is located on the back side of the block (firewall) almost directly in the center, under the intake manifold. You will need to remove the electrical connector and retaining bolt. Then "lift" it out. Good Luck.
About $1150 for everything if it's less then that they may not be doing a good job
i need a good example for a essay on the subject noise.
There can be a few things leading to this. First suggestion is to change your ECTS. New ones are cheap at the dealer and are brass. A good cleaning of the throttle body is also suggested.
Noises are impossible to correctly diagnoise unless you hear them. TAke it to a good diagnoistition.
