Personal relationship? Depends on the person. I expect my wife would support me until I die, and she agrees. I expect that my mother and father would do the same, and they agree. I expect that my brother would chuckle if he saw my corpse in a ditch, and he agrees. Personal relationships as well as people themselves are far too versatile to expect the same thing from one person to the next.
Professional relationships? Again, largely depends on the person. But here I believe most would expect the other participant in a professional relationship to be... well... professional. To that extent, if their support is required by their job, then they are expected to support you. If their support is not required by their job, it's hit or miss whether anyone expects anything of anyone.
