Dogs, like all vertebrates, have bilateral symmetry. This means they have symmetry across one plane (known as the sagittal plane, and directly down the centre of their body), which means one side of their body approximately mirrors the other side.

Bilateral as are probably all mammals, their right and left sides are more or less mirror images of each other. Radial symetry is like spokes on a wheel, like a sand dollar.

What kind of symmetry do sea slugs have?

Crustaceans, like all arthropods, have bilateral symmetry. This means they have symmetry across one plane (known as the sagittal plane, and directly down the centre of their body), which means one side of their body approximately mirrors the other side.

What kind of symmetry do bearded fireworks have?

The bearded fireworm has bilateral symmetry. Bilateral symmetry means that the organism is a two-sided organism. Radial symmetry is a kind of symmetry in which an object takes on a similar shape.

How are radial symmetry and symmetry different?

Radial symmetry is a particular kind of symmetry in which an object takes on a similar form in any direction outward from the center (like a circle, which is the most perfect radially symmetrical form). Another form of symmetry is bilateral symmetry, meaning that is a two sided symmetry, in which a left side resembles a right side; this is the kind that human bodies have. In comparison, starfish have radial symmetry.

What kind of body symmetry do vertebrates have?

Symmetry in animals is something that is very important. It is a big part of classification in animals. Nearly all multi-cellular organisms exhibit one or other type of symmetry such as radial or bilateral. For more on this see the source.
