Your 4.3 liter V-6 Blazer engine doensn't have a timing belt. It is not an overhead cam engine. It uses two sprockets with a short stout chain between them. An easy way to tell whether a car has a timing belt or a tining chain is to look at the cover on the front of the engine. A chain runs in oil so its cover will be metal so that the oil won't leak out. A belt will have a black plastic cover, partly for looks, but also to keep dirt an debris out of the belt. = Answer = Chicken belt

I do not believe they do. An overtightened timing belt will just be noisy. Kind of like a squeeky belt.

No. One had absolutely nothing to do with the other. Leave the timing alone. ----- Trail blazer with 4.2 L motor does not have timing belt. It have timing chain instead. This timing chain last over 150K miles. Possible the belt is Accessory drive belt (not timming). Per some manual this belt must be inspected and replaced if necessary every 60000 miles.
