You are only supposed to put them with other leopard geckos. Other types of lizards will try to hurt them, or the other way around.
NEVER mix species unless (a) they're found naturally co-existing in the wild and (b) one species is not prey to the other!
A house lizard is actually called a gecko. They are very light in color, are around 4 inches long, and have large eyes.
They do, just not ears as we think of them. They don't protrude, but rather they are just holes in the lizard's head. If you look at some species, like the leopard gecko, you can see them, and they are actually pretty large in proportion to the body.
I would suggest you get a leopard gecko or a crested gecko as your first lizard pet. Both are low maintenance reptiles that have fairly good temperaments. They don't grow very large and don't require a big cage either. However, keep in mind that these lizards live for a very long time and require your time and dedication to live their entire life-spans.other good first pet- gargoyle gecko (care requirements are similar to those of a crested gecko)- bearded dragon (great first pet if you can provide a large enclosure and the proper diet)-geckos of the rhacodactylus genus (these geckos are great first lizard pets! The crested gecko and the gargoyle gecko are members of this genus. Other members of this genus include: leachianus, rough snouted, chaoua, sasorinum geckos. However, these geckos (with the exception of crested and gargoyle geckos) often command a hefty price.
no, the mice will end up nibbling away on the leopard gecko and most likely injure it severely. Also, they just won't go together well. some people feed their leopard geckos pinkie mice, but that's when the gecko is grown and large, plus you should only do that 1 time every couple months.
Blunt-nosed leopard lizards are a large type of lizard. They are and have been endangered since 1986. Their scientific name is Gambelia Silus.
If it is a young leopard gecko you should feed it about 2-3 small crickets every day. If it is an adult you should feed it about 3-4 large crickets every other day.
No. People feed leopard geckos "pinkies" for various reasons. To boost nutrition during a geckos pregnancy. To give a gecko a large feeding so as to not have to feed it for a week (this works well if you want to take a vacation). Some people just think it's entertaining. A Leopard Gecko does not "need" to eat baby mice. Crickets will do.
yes if the leopard gecko doesn't kill it by the time the gecko swallows it then the leopard gecko could have some series problems and end up dead.thank you for asking.
a leopard
Species of gecko that are native to hot and dry deserts tend to eat live prey. Insects, spiders, small mammals, small reptiles etc..My gecko (leopard) eats 12 large crickets a month u can try mealy worms and just keep them in the cage but mine did not eat them. It varies for every gecko.
8 to 10 inches for a normal healthy adult male , but strangly mine only grew to about six and a half inches. Females are a bit smaller than males.
Hi! The normal temperature is supposed to be 86-90 degrees Fahrenheit at all times... She may be shedding her skin...
