Continental France is on the Western edge of Europe, with the Atlantic Ocean on its western coast. It is the largest country in Western Europe, bordering with Belgium to the north-east, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy to the east, the Medeterranean Sea on France's south coast, and Spain to the south-west. France also holds islands in the Carribean (Guadeloupe, Martinique, St. Martin) and French Giana on the northern tip of South America.
