Buick makes a clunking sound from trans area when accelerating.
if it is a front wheel drive check the cv joints
sounds like the right front motor mount .i replaced mine and the clunking sound went away
the rear end (differental)
Check the strut mountings Check springs and shocks they may be worn out
the flute makes its sound when you blow and air rushes through and comes out of the holes in a rush making a sound.
If there is a clunking sound when turning a vehicle, the problem might be the ball joints in the front end. The ball joints help to support the A-Frame which helps to keep the wheel on and upright.
A bad ball joint or tie rod end.

I am not sure what you mean by rear, but here are some possibilities. It could be bad u-joints if it makes the sound right when you put it reverse it will could also make it when you put it in drive. If you have the automatic 4L60-E transmission and i only heard this once that the reverse input clutch was so messed up that it made a clunking sound.
If your car is making a funny noise it is best to go to a mechanic. Mechanics have taken schooling to know what things sound right and what things do not sound OK.
