It's extremely well with little children and family, making it a good for if you want to have a family or are really close to yours. It also is a very good swimmer and retriever, making it an awesome game dog for if you hunt a lot. It is also very bold, strong, protective, loving, caring, immensely intelligent, and has a very glossy and soft coat that doesn't tangle easy (which is another plus if being put to hunting use because of the water), is extremely pretty, and only needs about one or two brushes a day. Golden Retrievers are also highly popular because they can be cross-bred with a wide variety of other dog breeds, such as the Poodle (another popular breed, especially in France), Irish Setter, Dalmatian, Dachshund, Cocker Spaniel, Labrador Retriever (also very popular), Alaskan Malamute, English Bulldog, Australian Shepherd, Bernese Mt. Dog, Border Collie (my favorite), Rottweiler, and PLENTY more. Lastly, the Golden Retriever doesn't have many health issues, cutting down on veterinarian bills.
