Power is bleeding across the electrical ground from the brake to the tail circuits. Take the rear lights apart. Wirebrush the contacts and where they ground to the body. Put dielectric grease on the contacts when you put the bulbs back in.
The brake light switch on a Nissan is located just behind the brake pedal. It sends a signal to the brake lights when the pedal is pressed to turn them on.
nothing it could just be the tail lights coming on.
UNDER the dash, on the steering column and it makes contact with the brake pedal It looks like a bracket, that wraps around the brake pedal arm, and it has a cylinder type switch that makes contact with the brake pedal arm. When the brake pedal is pressed down it pushes the cylinder switch together which closes the circuit and makes you brake lights come on. It may be a fuse or wires but start with the switch.
Sticking Brake LightsI had this very same problem when I owned a Nissan 300zx. There is a switch in front of the brake pedal that when the brake pedal is pressed the metal part of the pedal presses down on a little button which turns the brake lights on when pressing the pedal. What I did was I got under the dash, took a flashlight and put a little piece of tape in between the pedal and the switch. It acted as a cushion because the pedal wasn't pushing down on the switch as it was pushing on the tape and when I pressed on the pedal the lights would come on but the tape pushed the pedal back to shut the switch off. If you want to avoid all this consider having your brake pedal adjusted. If your brake lights come on still consider having your cars wiring checked out.
Under the brake pedal is a brake light switch that when you press the pedal it hits it and makes your lights come on..sometimes when they get weak the pedal depresses them simply from the weight of the pedal and they stay on..Have a friend get inside the truck and pull UP on the brake pedal as you look at the lights..if the brake lights go off when they pull up on it..then it is that switch under the brake pedal
just as the name it makes the brake lights come on when u press on the brake pedal
The switch on the brake pedal is disconnected or defective. The shifter interlock has to get a signal from the switch to know the pedal is being pressed before it will release the shifter.
Your rt side brake light is burned out.
My Brake tail Lights Stay on when my car is complete turned off and my lights are off to.
When your foot puts pressure on the brake pedal there is a switch that relays the brake pedal being pushed to the lights which makes them turn on.
Make sure that the brake pedal is pressed down or else it won't shift out of park. If you are pressing the pedal and still no action then make sure that the brake lights are turning on as maybe a fuse or an electrical component letting the trannsmission know that you are holding the brake may be faulty.
