Generally speaking, with meeting someone who is very different from you, you could expect significant differences in:
- cultures and cultural values
- family group and family values
- religion and religious beliefs
- type of God the person believes in (separate from religion)
- types of beliefs about death and whether there is an afterlife (or not)
- beliefs in the supernatural
- stories, fables, myths that shaped their upbringing
- language and meanings of words, even between English-speaking people (example: USA vs New Zealand or England)
- importance of politics and political beliefs (example: Cubans still in their homeland and Cubans living in the USA speak completely different views about Fidel Castro, now deceased.)
- Cultural and Country of origin pride
The list could be endless, from type of clothing/fashion and hairstyle, to more intellectual and psychological areas.

On a general basis no. Each person has likes and dislikes and it would drive one crazy to live up to each of their expectations. However, if you are having guests over for an evening and know their like and dislikes regarding food then plan your menu well. If you smoke and they don't then go outside to smoke ... that's called respect. You should always be yourself, but have respect for others, but do not change who you are to constantly to please others. After all people who are individuals with their likes and dislikes and different personalities makes life interesting.
