What might cause cyl misfire on 2002 Mercury Mountaineer?
the misfire my be caused by improper sparkplug gaps or bad injectors
There are several things that can cause your 2000 Mercury Mountaineer from running. The most common cause is a lack of fuel. You might want to start by changing your fuel filter.
What might cause hesitation problems on a 2001 Mercury Cougar but only when traveling at 32 to 35 mph?
a cylinder misfire might be happening. check your plugs and wires for bad connection
The power steering might whine on a 1998 Mercury Mountaineer because the pump or reservoir is low on fluid. Check the reservoir and add fluid to eliminate the whine. You may have a leak in the system.
SOUNDS LIKE THE WARE INDICATOR ON THE PADS CUTTING INTO THE ROTORS. CHANGE THE PADS, MIGHT BE A WHEEL BEARNG GOING BAD
The door ajar light might stay on in a Mercury Mountaineer if a door is not shut properly. Sometimes a door will seem like it is shut, but will not be shut enough to trip the light off. Check for dirt or other debris in the door latch for all doors.
I have a 2002 Moutianeer, and not to long ago had a problem with the shifting. It would struggle, then shift real hard into 2nd. I had to have a tramsmission overhaul done. Thank God it was under warrenty.
sticker in the glove comparment or you can program your own with the manual or go to the dealer, they might charge for it.
What might be the cause for a thumping noise in the rear driver side quarter panel of a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer?
I had the same type noise in my 2002 Mountaineer. I pulled the panel of on the rear drivers side and found the device that opens and closes the heat or air vent was not getting to the position it needed to be. constant recycle. Since I live in Florida I disabled the device and positioned the vent to air only. No noise and its cool now.
you might have installed it upside down or the new thermostat might be defective or the wrong temperature range it could also be something unrelated, possibly a blown fuse
Could be, spark plug(s), contaminated fuel (water),
What might cause the headlights on a 1998 Mercury Mountaineer to stay on for over 10 minutes after the vehicle is shut off and on random occasions the front wipers swipe once and then shut off?
My 2000 Mountaineer has a delayed headlight shut off switch located on the bottom of the rear view mirror. It slides right or left. To the left is off and as you slide it to the right the delay feature gets longer. Farthest to the right could very well be around ten minutes.
Where is the diagnostic port on a 1998 mercury mountaineer V8 I have a check engine light on and want to plug in a hand held scanner Thanks?
It should be on the driver's side of the dash near the bottom. It might have a cover over it.
Check all vacuum lines under hood and dash - check vacuum operated motors-- Get a hand held vacuum pump might make job easier
Yes, a faulty O2 sensor might cause a 1993 Sidekick to stall. It would also cause the car to misfire and use far more gasoline that it needs.
http://www.autozone.com/addVehicleId,2579302/initialAction,repairGuide/shopping/repairGuide.htm?pageId=0900c152801decc0 This is for a 2000 don't know if it's the same as a 99 but might help
When a sunroof will not close on a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer, check to make sure that the hinges are not rusted. The fuse for the sunroof mechanism is in the fuse box in the dash on the driver's side. It might be possible to close this manually, if the hinges move freely.
The distributor could be failling, there might not be enough fuel or air reaching the engine (too much is bad too), or your spark plugs/wires are damaged or not to spec.
you might wanna chage the plugs and wires. what other symptoms does the car have. i am having the same problem in my 2003 pontiac grand prix gt
Look at your temperature gage...If that is low, you might have a bad thermostat, which would keep your heater from working...I would check that first. also, check the cab air filter. i had the same problem. temp was fine but the filter was full.
One of the wires might have been caught in between your steering wheel adjustment. Try moving your steering wheel a little bit high or low. Don't move into extreme high or low, there's a snag in it.
I'm not a mechanic / technician but it might be the spark plug , spark plug wire , not the proper air / fuel mixture to that engine cylinder , and there are probably other causes
It might but you may also have bad spark plugs/plug too. A bad distributor cap can cause it to miss too.
might be a misfire in a cylinder...
Older computers might have mercury, but most modern computers are Mercury-Free.
No, there are no cloud conditions in Mercury
1997 Mercury Mountaineer - Ford Explorer. Why does the check engine lite keeps coming on - have had 02 sensors and CAT changed but that didn't fix it.?
Similar problem. Tyrned out it was a hose that was slightly dry rotted and the cracks were keeping the system from establishing a good vacuum. Check for any hoses that might be cracked.
the gas line from the tank might have trash in it the gas line from the tank might have trash in it
Why would 4wd light or truck not go into 4wd when switching the truck into 4wd not work on a 97 mercury mountaineer?
the switch might have went out this is a common problem that hapens with bush butting 4x4 or turney nob wich ever it is put it to the 4x4 spot then hit the gas to see if it is relly in 4x4 or if the back tire just spin
The spark timing might be too advanced. At high temperatures and RPM an advanced spark might cause preignition, and engine knock. That's only likely to happen if the engine is modified though. Other than that, check the air and fuel filters are clean, as the harder the engine has to work the more a clean flow of both is important.
Clean the inside of the throtle body where the butterfly is. Also clean the idle speed control which is on the side of the throtle body. Good luck. 11/11/04 - just happened to me. My mechanic is going to; 1) replace EGR valve He also found a leak (with a special leak detecting gadget) at the intake manifold, so that gasket is being replaced. Check your pcv valve, this on thing can cause a lot… Read More
The dangers in using mercury is that it is highly toxic and if iy gets on your skin you might have impure fantasies of pèople and that you might have terrible necessity to go to the toilet.
Best to start off with hooking it to a scan tool. Verify which/how many cylinders to prevent you from wasting your money on "possible causes". Also there might be other codes that can guide you to the cause( I.E. sensor malfunction). You can perform a tune up, to rule out wires/cap, etc., it Might be time for it anyway. Also check if the plenum gasket is blown. Next would be to check the fuel pressure… Read More
If the timing is off a lot it can make your engine misfire and may not fire on every cylinder on every rotation. This can cause your engine to shake on its mounts and therefore shake your car, but usually at low RPM's. Poor airflow to the fuel ports can also make your car idle roughly. Might be a dirty air filter or the mass airflow sensor might be dirty (you can get throttle body… Read More
It might cause reaction in staining and cause accident
Studies have shown that under the north pole of Mercury, there might be liquid water.
You might, but that would be wrong! Mercury has a strong magnetic field.
On a 99 Avalon when decelerating rpm sometimes drop quickly below 1K then goes back up to around 1500 any ideas what may cause that since it acelerates fine and runs well otherwise?
A rapid deceleration and low rpm's on a 1999 Avalon might be caused by a misfire of the engine. This problem can also occur if the car is shifting too soon. The shift solenoid might also be the problem.
Yes. A fuel pressure regulator maintains the adequate fuel pressure required by the engine. A faulty fuel pressure regulator might leak fuel or cause your engine to run lean. It could create hard starts, knock and ping, or hesitationat full throttle.
Possibly...... it might!
No person went on Mercury or might not ever go on Mercury because of its average temperature of 700degres Fahrenheit or around 350degres Celsius.
Mercury is highly poisonous and should not be used in milk production. The only place where mercury might be used in milk production is in mercury thermometers and where possible, these should be replaced with alcohol thermometers.
What might cause a loud clicking noise under the rear seat of a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer when the key is on?
WHENEVER YOU TURN the key on any vehicle, the electic fuel pump inside your gas tank will "click" rapidly for about 5 seconds. This happens each time you turn the key. Since it's in the fuel tank, it sounds like it's under back seat (actually it IS!) If it stops after a few seconds it's normal. If it keeps clicking, you need to see a mechanic! fuel pump could be starting to go bad. since… Read More
Mercury is the closest planet to the sun, and so has the shortest year. It is also the smallest planet in our solar system. Also Mercury has said to have ice on it! The craters of Mercury might have ice in them which would be a good source of life on planet Mercury!
Why would a 1996 explorer act like it has the hiccups when accelerating up hills and when getting enough speed to get on interstate?
There could be several reasons your car is "hiccuping" when accelerating, but a common cause would be a misfire from a bad spark plug. It's also possible your fuel system might need to be cleaned or replaced, such as your fuel lines and filter.
A loss of power on a Toyota Celica GT while accelerating can be a number of things. The timing might be off. The coil pack might be allowing for a misfire. There might also be a bad Oxygen sensor or bad distributor.
When you drive with a bad fuel injector, your engine will often misfire. You might also have a rough idle and increased fuel consumption.
the fast moving parts inside the engine can create a lot of foams due to constant whipping of oil and the moving parts then might not get lubricated enough. it can may create pressure for which the gaskets are not suitable and start leaking. oil may also get into the combustion and possibly dampen the spark plug and eventually cause the car to misfire or even cause the car to die completely when you expect… Read More
You might be thinking of 'quicksilver'.
Why does Mercury have an average density that is close to that of earth even though Mercury is a smaller planet?
That might be an indication that Mercury has a similar composition to Earth. For more details, check the Wikipedia articles on Earth, and Mercury, to see what is believed to be inside each planet.
How do you get the loud buzzing sound to stop when you try use your left turn signal on your 1997 mercury mountaineer?
This is not a typical thing to occur. Most likely there could be either a turn signal bulb out or the relay is starting to die. Besides the noise, you may notice the turn signal is going on and off really fast. Otherwise, there might be a wire pinched and shorting out in the steering column. I'd take it to a ford dealer if possible.
