Oil filters generally shouldn't be hard to take off at all, however sometimes technicians will put them on there tight. On automatic transmissions there should be an override button near the shifter. You have to take a pen or something long and skinny and put it down into the hole to push it but then it should work fine until you put the shifter in park again. I don't know about newer ones but this is how it worked on my 1997 accent.
