Your GCSE choices don't really come into it. As long as you have a grade C or above in the core subjects (in particular ENGLISH) you should have the criteria to get into almost any college. The subjects you pick in college are what's important because your school subjects don't really affect your career choice. Picking Art & Design could help you on the more practical side of the industry..

While your at school just pick the subjects you enjoy and are good at because the overall grade you get is what matters, not so much the subject :)

To become a fashion journalist, it is recommended to focus on subjects such as English (for writing skills), Art and Design (for creativity), Media Studies (for journalism skills), and Business Studies (for understanding the fashion industry). It is also beneficial to have strong communication skills and an interest in current fashion trends.

it depends what type of job you get in the magazine like if you want to work in the editorial side then you would need mainly maths and english but if you want to be a designer you need the creativity such as art&design or dt.
