The camshaft sensor is located in the distributor. I believe you have to replace the hole distributor.
The camshaft TDC mark is located on the camshaft side of the pulley wheel. When the mark is level with the front reinforcing strip on the camshaft cover the camshaft will be at TDC.
I'm sure its in the distributor.
The firing order for all VW 4 cylinder engines is 1-3-4-2, with cylinder no.1 next to the camshaft pulley wheel.
in the engine bay ;)
where is vw golf gti engine number
Yes, there are 2 camshafts on a 1.8T GTI. The engine uses a 20 valve design, meaning 5 valves per cylinder. For each cylinder 3 valves are intake valves and 2 valves are exhaust valves. One camshaft drives the intake valves and the other camshaft drives the exhaust valves

Most if not all 4 cylinder VAG engines will fit in a mk2 Golf. However it will be much cheaper to buy a GTI rather than convert a non-GTI model once you factor in ancillary items such as GTI-spec front brakes, rear discs, a change of wiring loom, etc.
The firing order is 1-3-4-2, no.1 cylinder nearest the camshaft pulley wheel.
