Spain was conquered my the Moors (also known as African Spaniards) who were North African Muslims. They ruled for over 700 years until they were driven out by Christian armies.
Hope this helps!

The part of Spain under Moorish control was called Al-Andalus
Yes in part, some areas were conquered. It depends when you are talking about. like in 1580 Portugal was conquered by spain.
At no time did the Moors control all of the Iberian Peninsula on which modern Spain is located. The Moors invaded the peninsula in 710 AD and the last Moorish stronghold surrendered in 1492 AD, so there were Moors in power in some part of the peninsula for 782 years. They never controlled Spain, as such, because it didn't come into being until 23 years after the Moors were physically evicted from the peninsula. Spain did not exist as a single country until 1516 when the major kingdoms of Castile, Leon, Aragon and Navarre were united under one monarch. Carlos I became the ruler of all of them. He was, at the same time, Carlos (Charles) V, Holy Roman Emperor.
In 1492, Spain was ruled by two people together, Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand. It happens that in 1492, they conquered Grenada, the last part of Spain that was not under their control and putting it into its present geographical form. There is a link below.
They were not founded. People settled there more than two thousand years ago and they became part of Spain when they were conquered in the 15th century.
Moors never played a part in Switzerland's history. "Moors" typically is the name of the Islamic population of Spain. They invaded Spain in the 8th century and conquered a great part of south-eastern Spain. After the defeat and death of their most succesful leader Al-Mansoor around 1000 A.D their role and power began to diminish. By around 1400 A.D the Moors had been reduced to a minority group more or less tolerated by the Spanish rulers. King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain finally forced them in the late 15th century to either convert to Catholicism or be deported from Spain.
The Muslims, or Moors, who invaded Spain from Africa, ruled all or part of the Iberian Peninsula from 711 AD until 1492.
The part of Spain under Moorish control was called Al-Andalus
The Alhambra Palace is in Granada.

The Moors controlled a large part of the Iberian Peninsula beginning in 711 until they were expelled in 1492 by King Fernando and Isabel. The Moors' last possession was the Alhambra in Granada.
The Muslims Muslim is a vague term. More specifically the invaders of the Visigoth kingdom in Spain were the Moors (Moroccan Berbers) who fought on behalf of the Umayyad Caliphate. The Moors under the Emir of Cordoba attacked Aquitaine (southwest France) which was Part of the Frankish kingdom, but were defeated and pushed back by Charles Martel. This emirate was independent. By then the Umayyad Caliphate had fallen. The Abbasid Caliphate took over, but did not reach Algeria, Morocco and Spain. Al-Andalus (Moorish Spain) quickly developed a separate identity.

The Moors ruled most of Spain and Portugal and parts of France, Italy, Sicily, and Sardinia. The Moors were Muslims. Other large portions of the western world, including other parts of Europe, were controlled by other Muslims under the Ottoman Empire.
lets say an Arab had a baby with a light skin Egyptian =Berber they were a part of the Moors and helped take over Spain in 711
They were the Arabic people known as the Moors and they once occupied part of Spain in the Medieval Ages.
After Spain had conquered areas in Central America and the southern part of North America in the 16th century, those territories were called New Spain.
