President Bush gave Saddam Hussein an ultimatum: Either provide definitive proof of disposal of weapons of mass destruction, or else resign as leader (dictator) of the country. He did neither. Accordingly, Congress authorized the use of force should Hussein not comply. Virtually every congressman and other high ranking official in America and indeed throughout the world thought that Hussein still had WMDs. Hussein's downfall stopped the official tyranny in Iraq. Unfortunately terrorists still are causing widespread mayhem, not only in Iraq, but throughout the world.
