How many men called Lamech were mentioned in the Book of Genesis?

Genesis chapter 4 mentions Lamech as the descendant of Cain. Genesis chapter 5 mentions Lamech as the descendant of Seth. However, the two genealogies are so improbably similar that one or both is fictional. The names in the two genealogies are, although the exact order of Enoch, Irad/Jared and Mahujael/Mahalaleel has changed: CAIN .............. SETH Cain ................Cainan Mehujael ....... Mahalaleel Irad ............... Jared Enoch ............ Enoch Methusael ..... Metheluselah Lamech ......... Lamech

Are Cain's Enoch and Seth's Enoch the same?

They are separate as in separate lands, however genetically they are one. One is a copy of another. Adam was created in the likeness of The Creator. This likeness can be coppied and recreated. This is how Seth became Abel II, God remade Abel in the form of Seth. There is one Enoch in the Land of Nod and one Lamech in the land of Nod. There is one Enoch in the land of Adam and Seth. There is one Lamech in the land of Adam and Seth. One Enoch walked with God. One Lamech was a poligimist and a murderer. One Lamech was not a murderer. Lamech was guilty and Lamech was innocent. People should be carefull judging a person bassed on a name of a person nothing like them. Corrections in genetics works, but God has to do it, not some depertament where the ones with authority is given to man by man or by man to woman or by woman to man. This is why Jesus has to return again to straignten out everyone's mess. This time Enoch and Elijah will be by his side because Enoch and Elijah never died.

Was Enoch the son of Seth or of Cain?

Leon R. Kass (The Beginning of Wisdom: Reading Genesis) says that The line of ten generations from Adam to Noah begs to be compared to the seven generations from Cain to the sons of Lamech............................. AdamAdam................. SethCain .................. EnosEnoch ................ Cainan (Cain)Irad .................... Mahalaleel (Mehujael)Mehujael ........... Jared (Irad)Methusael ......... Enoch (Enoch)............................ Metheluselah (Methusael)............................ Lamech (Lamech)With the aid of the third column (in parentheses), we can see that the names in the second column are substantially the same as in the first column, with just a minor change of sequence. They originated with the same early mythology, but at some stage a new tradition emerged, which was subsequently brought back to enhance and add to the original tradition. Thus Enoch (Enos) is now both Seth's son and Cain's son.

Why did Cain and Seth have three descendants with the exact same name?

It is likely that the repetition of names was common practice in ancient cultures to honor ancestors or prominent figures. In the case of Cain and Seth, repeating names could have been a way to highlight the importance of certain individuals or to emphasize continuity within the family lineage.

Did Cain and Abel die?

In Genesis, we find the story of the brothers Cain and Abel.Abel was slain by Cain because Cain was jealous of the offering Abel had for God. Cain's gift of the ground was incomparable to Abel's of the firstlings of his flock, the very best he had. And Cain harbored hatred in his heart that caused him to kill Abel and sin against God.Cain was cast out by God and marked, "lest any man finding him should kill him. (Genesis 4:15) While he was running, Cain dewlt in Nod and had many children, though the date of his final fate is not recorded here.Answer:There is a very small and strange tidbit of "Holy Spirit inspired" (II Tim.3:16) information in Genesis that may indicate that Cain's great-great grandson, Lamech, may have killed not only his great-great grandfather, Cain... but Enoch, also."...Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt. If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold." (Gen.4:23-24)Cryptically, Lamech calls his great-great grandfather's curse (avenged sevenfold - Gen.4:15) upon himself, which appears to be a confession that he killed Cain. But if Cain the murderer's death warranted a "sevenfold" vengeance... might not a "seventy-fold" vengeance be required for the death of a "righteous man?" Like Enoch?Much of the modern professing Christian world believes that Enoch "did not die"... but The Bible says that he did:"...Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God translated him..." (Heb.11:5).This seems to say that Enoch didn't die... but the wording speaks of the future (he SHOULD NOT SEE DEATH)... meaning the "SECOND DEATH" from which Jesus saves us."...He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the SECOND DEATH." (Rev.2:11)"...This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such THE SECOND DEATH HATH NO POWER, but they shall be priests of God and of His Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years." (Rev.20:5-6)This is the death that "Enoch should not see"... the SECOND DEATH... because in the 13th verse of Hebrews 11, after list of God's faithful saints of which Enoch is one - it says:"...THESE ALL DIED IN FAITH, not having received the promises..." (Heb.11:13).The strange recorded blurb in Genesis 4 by Lamech, therefore, may indicate that Enoch was the YOUNG MAN he killed who warranted a "seventy-fold" curse on him besides the "sevenfold" one for Cain, "the man" whom he killed.A study of the ages men lived to in Genesis 5 reveals that they lived for centuries - seven, eight, nine-hundred years. But Enoch "died" a VERY YOUNG MAN... at the youthful age of 365 (Gen.5:23).And if God "took Enoch and translated him" (carried his slain body away to bury him) while Lamech was watching... might that not have shaken Lamech up enough to say what he did to his wives? And make him call the "seventy-fold" curse upon himself for the death of the "young man?"Was Enoch "preaching the gospel" to Lamech before he was killed? Was Enoch warning Lamech to repent of his evil ways, which infuriated Lamech into a killing frenzy that took Enoch's life? Were these Enoch's last words?"...Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of His saints, to execute Judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him." (Jude 1:14-15)Why else would the Holy Spirit inspire such a strange passage in God's Word? It's curious.

How did Enoch live his life with God that he did not die?

According to the Bible, Enoch lived a life that pleased God and walked closely with Him. Enoch's faithfulness and righteousness were evident in his daily life, and he had a deep relationship with God. Because of this close connection, God chose to take Enoch directly into heaven without experiencing physical death.
