Voo Doo is similar to witchcraft. but dont be confused, witchcraft and wicca are very different. true wicca does nothing to harm others, while witchcraft is sometimes used for that.
Voodoo shares similarities with some African traditional religions, such as the Yoruba religion in Nigeria and Candomblé in Brazil, due to its focus on ancestor veneration, spirit possession, and connection to nature. It also has influences from Catholicism, as seen in the syncretic practices of Haitian Vodou and Louisiana Voodoo.

"Grandpa" is an English equivalent of the Portuguese word vovô. The masculine singular noun also translates as "granddad" and "granddaddy" in English. The pronunciation will be "voo-VO" in Cariocan Brazilian and in continental Portuguese.
In many religions, the concept of going to heaven alive is not a common belief. Typically, the transition to the afterlife is believed to occur after physical death. Spiritual practices such as meditation, prayer, and leading a virtuous life are often emphasized as ways to align oneself with divine principles and prepare for the afterlife.
Grandpa is a common noun. Proper nouns are the unique names of people, places, or things. Common nouns are the words for general things. If a common noun is part of a name, it becomes a proper noun. Pronouns always replace proper and common nouns.
My own beliefs are defined by atheism, and one of my values is respect for the beliefs of others, regardless of their religion. When ing Wiki s questions, I may disagree with the Christian majority on religion, but try to do so in such a way as never to cause intentional offence. Given that an English-language website has few adherents of the various non-Christian religions, I sometimes provide informative s to questions on those religions, while checking to ensure that others have not, inadvertently or otherwise, posted what may be considered inflammatory material on questions about other religions.
I belive you are thinking of Santaria. This is very similar to the more common tradition of Voo Doo as practiced in Haiti and Louisiana.

Derived from the Greek word Sheenus, the Wrestler Sheena depicts the image of a strong woman in the form of a goddess. She wrestles Zeus in The Epic of Zepherus Aganda with a spear made of dragon scales (this is obviously an allusion to Oedipus' sexual love of his mother who he procreated with.) The term "Voo Doo" was added in the 1800's by William Franklin Burbridge in his translation of the original piece. Burbridge titled his translation "Speaking In Tongues" after the traditional Voo Doo practice of ritualistic sacrificing of poultry--this would cause the Voo Doo queens to speak in tongues, because they were often aroused by the prospect of their completed sacrifices.
