A missionary is a member a religious group who goes abroad to try and spread the word of the gospels to foreign peoples, teaching them about their religion and to try and convert those of different beliefs to Christianity. They may set up schools, build churches or create organisations in other countries mainly in Africa and Asia. They usually pick somewhere random such as a rural area where no one knows anything about the religion. They may either have to learn a new language or use pictures to communicate. They often used to get killed by the locals who disagreed with their arguments and did not want to be converted to a different religion.
