THERE IS GREAT ROLE IN WORLD WAR 1 OF AMERICA MILITARY BECAUSE AMERICA IS ONE OF THE WHO CAME IN LAST OF 1917.IN 1917 ABOUT ALL COUNTRIES LOSE THEIR BOMBS AND WEAPONS .BUT AMERICA IS IN FULL POWER IT IS READY TO DEFEAT ALL THE COUNTRIES AND HE GAIN MORE WEAPONS , COUNTRIES AND BOMBS
The Americans were more for morale support, as statistics prove that they did very little in contributing to the war effort in terms of victories, miles gained (34), POW taken (16000), German troops engaged (47), and more. Their army was over 605000 strong, but only mounted their first offensive in September, 1918 at St. Michel, and suffered huge casualties. The American Expeditionary Force, could've contributed a lot more if it wasn't for the stubbornness of their commander John "Blackjack" Pershing, who lacked coordination with other armies and thought he could do it all himself. A prime example of this is the US (605000 active soldier during last 3 months)in relation to Canada (105000). US sufferred 2200 casualties per Ger. troop faced while Can. 975. However, the Americans did provide morale support and ultimately became the world superpower after a war-ravaged Europe finally emerged from the blood and mud. -VIGI RAM #5
American soldiers played a decisive role in WWI, though the French and British would rather die today than admit this. When the US entered the war the Russians were quitting it, allowing the Germans to move most of their forces to the Western Front. The Germans tried in the spring of 1918 to use this new strength to win the war before the US could get its entire army to France. Early-arriving US troops helped halt this massive win-the-war offensive, then went over to the attack. It was the arrival of this fresh, feverishly combative new army into the fray that convinced the Germans they could never win, and everyone knew and acknowledged this at the time. Today "respected" British historians such as Niall Ferguson write thick books, crammed with graphs and charts to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the US had nothing to do with it, and might as well have stayed home.
America did not participate in the majority of the war, coming in only in 1917, in retaliation for German subs sinking American vessels carrying supplies to Britain. An American battleship squadron attached to the royal navy's Grand Fleet came close to battle several times but never fired on German ships. American warships did participate in the final stages of the submarine war.
However, America was able to send troops to France in the nick of time and help stem the last great German offensive, one that had nearly overrun the allied positions. From there on, the Americans, along with the British and French, fought the Germans back to their border.
America lost 113 000 men in WW1, the third deadliest war in US history. For comparion, the Brits lost 885 000, French 1 390 000, Russians 1 811 000 and Germans 2 050 000
