What role do coils play in starting a 2001 Kia sephia if one has already replaced the spark plugs and wires and PCV valve and only in the the car sounds like it is going to die while turning over?

Your coils make the high voltage needed to arc a spark across the plug gap. Take out each plug in turn and earth it against the engine block, if there is a bright blue spark when you turn over the engine the coils are good, if it is yellow your condenser is at fault. If spark is good your timing could be out.
