A jury trial is a legal trial in which the defendant's guilt or innocence is determined by a group of twelve average members of the community instead of a judge.

I suppose a jury trail is the path a jury takes on their way to the court room. ;)

A jury hears the evidence presented by both sides in a trial and then determines the facts based upon the evidence. In a criminal trial the jury decides guilt or innocence and in a civil trial determines if a defendant is liable to a plaintiff, and in some instances determines damages. The jury is the "trier of fact" and after listening to all testimony and evidence from both sides, and being instructed on the law by the presiding judge, they deliberate and come to a decision which determines the outcome of the trial.
