We're in uncharted waters here; my cat foams up in the mouth a bit when given Cyproheptadine. Is that an allergic effect? Could be. But the drug definitely stimulates his appetite, so to me it is worth it to give it to him, in very small doses. If your cat has this problem, I would suggest cutting in half the amount you give him at one time, and mix with more water. In my case, today I gave him 5 drops of Apetil, mixed with about 5 drops of water. He foamed up a bit, for a minute or two. He is supposed to get 10 drops per day but I'm not sure I will give him that much for his first day. Tomorrow, I'm going to only mix 2 drops of Apetil, with 8 drops of water. I will give him that 3 - 5 times per day, and see how it goes. I always err on the side of giving my cat LESS medicine, particularly in the beginning. In this instance, since there are known side effects that can be very problematic, if I can get him to eat more with only 5 not 10 drops per day, then it would be foolish to give him more. So start low and increase as necessity warrants. If your cat has CRF go to Feline-CRF-Support-Yahoo.com and/or check felinecrf.org
Most people that are allergic to cats are only actually allergic to the fur, so a hairless cat.
no no
When you are allergic to a cat you are either allergic to its fur OR its dander.Dander is when a cat licks itself and the dried spit falls off in flakes (ew, I know). So you can't be allergic to a certain colour of cat.
her cat
no, it depends on the length of the cats fur and stuff. you are not allergic to the cat itself, it is the dust mites that they carry on the fur.
I already have a cat, but unless some one is allergic in your family you can get one,but if someone is then get a dog or get a low shedding cat. Yes, if you are able to have a cat you should, because there are too many out there without a good and loving home. Even if you are allergic you can get a Siberian, low-shedding, or you can just get one and be careful. To me allergies would be a small price to pay to enjoy my cats.
Desloratadine is used to prevent an allergic reaction, you should check with your vet for the correct amount to give to your cat.
Horses should never be fed cat food. Cat food is made from animal proteins (meat) and other things that are not good for horses. Some may have an allergic reaction to it, but others may colic and require emergency medical attention.
if you are pregnet you can but allergic no so if you know someone that is allergic tell them to stay away!!
Yes, you should be concerned. The cat may be allergic to one of the treatments. You should take the cat back to the vet immediately.
If you get affected that way from a cat you are allergic to the cat. It has nothing to do with the asthma.
If the soreness is caused by an allergic reaction, you should try Benadryl.
