no, it depends on the length of the cats fur and stuff. you are not allergic to the cat itself, it is the dust mites that they carry on the fur.

Are people who are allergic to cats allergic to ragdoll cats?

Yes. The Ragdoll breed, despite the popular myth, is not hypoallergenic. If you are allergic to cats, then you will be allergic to Ragdoll cats. The allergen is found in the cat's saliva, which remains in its coat after the cat cleans itself. When your cat sheds, the saliva coating on the fur (often called "dander") remain on any hair that is airborne. Inhaling the microscopic protein allergen causes your allergic reactions. Ragdoll cats have long, thick coats, and require daily brushing. These cats do shed quite heavily, so are not the best choice when looking for a specific breed of cat.

What can you do if your cat is allergic to your other cat?

Talk to your vet, if there isn't any answers to the problem then you may have to part with one of the cats in order to protect the health of the first cat you purchased. I don't think a cat can be allergic to another cat.

If someone is allergic to cat are they allergic to parakeets?

Not quite; unless the person has multiple allergies ; which is possible. But when the people are allergic to cats most of the time is not the cat hair. What makes somebody to be allergic to cats is actually the saliva that the cat use to clean themselves and ends on his hair. Which at the end the cat is the one that carries it. Well saying this parakeets are birds and flap their winds a lot ; but they don't have the elements of the saliva's cat. Actually birds have a very clean beaks and tongue that some can die from human mouth contact (kiss). Perhaps the person can be allergic to the feathers. But like I said is very likely to be allergic to both...

What part of the cat are humans allergic too?

Cats can become allergic to a number of things, just like humans. Some cats are allergic to flea and tick bites, medication (just like some humans have an allergy to penicillin-based medication), and some cats can even develop food allergies if fed a low quality food that has a high number of grains and cereals in.

How many cats are there in total if there is two cats behind a cat two cats in front of a cat and one cat in the middle?

5 cats in all. Actually, if the cat in the middle has not yet been counted, then there are five. But if it is not a separate cat, there could be three. (Cat Cat) Cat: two cats behind, Cat (Cat Cat): Two in front, and Cat (Cat) Cat: One in the middle.

Should you have a cat?

I already have a cat, but unless some one is allergic in your family you can get one,but if someone is then get a dog or get a low shedding cat. Yes, if you are able to have a cat you should, because there are too many out there without a good and loving home. Even if you are allergic you can get a Siberian, low-shedding, or you can just get one and be careful. To me allergies would be a small price to pay to enjoy my cats.

Are there any cats you can get that don't cause allergy symptoms in those who are allergic?

Male cats tend to cause less allergic reactions than female cats. But there is a new breed supposedly that is non-allergenic, but is about $6000 to $8000 for one cat. See link below for more information.
