During a game they drink lucasade and powerade and eat high energy sugary foods such as jaffa cakes, jelly babies and mars bars. The rest of the week they train at high intensity frequently, working on muscular strength/ endurance, fartlek (Speed play) They eat high protein foods such as fish and chicken the avoid or eat very little fatty foods
I would assume that a football player would eat healthy items for dinner, although they burn so many calories while playing. Just like I heard with swimmers, they have to eat literally three or more times the calories we eat a day. That is to keep them strong, energetic, and to silence their hunger. They burn so much that the calories don't even matter, I guess. So a football player could eat basically anything, as long as it is slightly healthy and plentiful.
