The oil pressure is too low. It can be dirty oil filter, not enough oil in the engine and failing oil pump. I would start with engine oil level.

You may need to change your oil, it may be normal for this vehicle to be in the red at an idle. The engine is not under any pressure. also a very common fault for gm v6 engines loss of oil pressure at idle is often caused by worn out main bearings. i have salvaged many engines by changing them.
pull off the road as soon as possible.
The oil pressure could be low. Or the oil sensor could be bad. The vehicle should have a fresh oil change if its anywhere near time, and the oil pressure tested. The sensor is easy to replace if its bad.
Oil pressure will fluctuate while driving depending on rpm's, but when the oil breaks down your pressure will be lower than it should be, by that time you are way past oil change time.
The oil pressure gauge will fluctuate on a Chevy Tahoe when the vehicle is idling and when the vehicle is driven at highway speed. Idle is usually 30 psi oil pressure or slightly more. At highway speed, the oil pressure should be between 60 psi and 80 psi.
40 on idle up to 60 while on the move.
It's supposed to mean your oil pressure is too low, but it could also mean a sensor is faulty, or perhaps the idle is too low, or maybe there is excess clearance in the main and/or rod bearings.
