Presumably, a sober Italian would drive in the lane specified as the driving lane in the country they're driving in. A drunk Italian... this can be a bit of a crapshoot.
As for the nation of Italy, they drive on the right side of the road, as does the whole of continental Europe (provided they're not too impaired to remain in the appropriate lane, of course).
