6.5" but the factories mustve been a bit custom to the speaker mount, i installed infinity's in my 95.5 and the bolt circle on the speaker is slightly smaller. Plus i had to bend the terminals back to clear. !WARNING! If you do this be SURE to heat the terminals up a bit so they dont break!

I dont advise it, but if you have a stock head unit, you will have to run your subs off of the door speakers. they will not be getting as much power as they should and neither will your door speakers.
assuming you plan to change the speakers on the frond doors, remove the bottom screws on the door frame (they should be facing up), then remove the bottom half of the door panel. Unscrew the stock speakers and replace them with new ones. Then put the door frame back on the door.
The stock front door speakers on 97- 01 lumina are 5.25 round but the depth of the speaker is an important dimension since the speaker is front mounted in an enclosure which is mounted to the door. I replaced my stock speakers with Sony Xplod model XS-R1342. Any 8 ohm model speaker with similar dimensions will work.
There are four 6.5" stock 'door' speakers and two small tweeters located on the top segment of the door directly opposite of side-view mirrors.
The original speakers are close to 6x9. However when you remove them you will end up with a "odd shaped" hole. You can purchase adapters from http://www.tacotunes.com that will allow you to install 6x9, 6.5 component speakers and even tweeters.
The front door speakers in a 2005 Cadillac Deville measure 5 1/4 inches. The dash speakers in the vehicle measure 3 1/2 inches. The rear door speakers measure 5 1/4 inches.
