It's a really simple job to remove the wheel and look at the bolt head to verify this.
It should be a 3/8" allen wrench.

You have sticky front calipers.

Be sure to change both front brake hoses. I didn't and my calipers would lock up.
All Cavaliers from about '94 to at least '04 use a 3/8 Allen key for calipers.

You take off the two bolts at the front and rear of the calipers and lift the the caliper up off of the disk. You might have to push the pistons back in a little in order to fit the new pads and get the caliper back on. Use a torque wrench and manual to ensure the right torque on those bolts when re-installing.
the seal is bad.
You will need a 3/8" allen wrench to remove the anchor pins for the calipers and a "C" clamp to compress the piston back into the caliper.
