7mm, you might need a socket extension to get the head of a ratchet past the brake line.
15 mm socket and ratchet for the caliper to bracket. if not it is a 13 mm socket and ratchet. the bracket to spindle is 18mm socket and ratchet
9mm hex socket bit
It requires a socket that basically has a large Alan wrench tip on it.
To replace the brake pads on a Mercury Mariner you will need a few tools. The tools you will need are a large C-clamp, a jack, tire blocks, and a 3/8 inch hex head Allen head socket.
The heavy duty trucks need the calipers ground down to fit
You actually need a special tool. We went to Auto Zone and they can rent the tools to you.
If your calipers are leaking they need to be rebuilt or replaced. If the vehicle pulls to one side or the other when braking it could also indicate a problem with one of the calipers.
I have a 1996 Kia Sephia. The calipers are the same stock # on the 1995 model. You need a Hex Bit Socket. Size : 7 MM Hope that helps. TC
Lug nuts to remove wheels 3/4" socket, bolts to remove the calipers 18mm, then pull rotor off.
Brake calipers are what house the brake pads and fit over the rotor. If you are working on the brakes, usually the calipers need to be taken off in order to work.
No need to rotate the front caliper pistons as you compress the front calipers. That process is only for the rear calipers because of the parking brake mechanism.
