Try looking at some local removalist companys websites, a lot of them should have online estimation/quotes that can give you an idea of how many square meters your "load" will take up in the back of a truck. Normally you just check boxes saying how many of what items you have and it will automatically calculate for you. Consider downsizing while you are packing and label the boxes clearly to make unpacking easier on the other end. I used a 17 foot truck and it was completely full.

After selling your house and finding a nice condo with a view of the ocean, your attention quickly turns to the moving process. You take a quick look around your house and realize everything will not fit in the new place and you’re going to have to put some stuff in storage. Moving involves hiring a moving and storage company to haul all of your stuff to its new home. You can do most of the packing so everything is ready for the movers on the day of the move. It is important to organize your things into boxes based on where they need to go. Label your dishes, glasses, flatware as Kitchen. Bedroom 1 or Bedroom 2 for things you keep in your bedroom. You can also name boxes by their contents. Label boxes that contain books, toys, clothes, tools and other items that can be grouped together, so it will make it easy when it comes time to unpack. Keep an inventory of all the boxes by numbering each box. A written list with the number and contents will be helpful in making sure that all of your things arrived safely. If you have 85 boxes when you start, you should have 85 boxes when you get to your new place.
