If you do not hide or conceal your car can you get in trouble for not surrendering it? Are you "hiding" your NEW address from the lender? Are any of the utilities in your name? Are you working for cash? Are you 'concealing" your new phone # from the lender? Are you answering calls from the lender if they have discovered it? Most states have a law concerning "defrauding a secured creditor".

I assume you mean from a repo man. It is illegal to hide a car to prevent repossession. In some states criminal charges can be filed against you. In the end they will get the car. The lender does not want to repo the car anymore than you want it repossessed. Both you and the lender loose.Even if you hide the car eventually they will find it. Don't be foolish and try to hide it. Just set down with them and see if you can work out a deal? If not, then just turn the car over to them. In some states, YES. think about it, if you only have an idea where the sibling is located, that's one thing. If you "knowingly hide the car" then you are defrauding the lender. IF YOU were the LENDER in this casr, would you cry FOUL?
