The Cholas established a vast empire.For this they developed a powerful navy which enabled them to develop India's sea-trade in the Indian ocean and to conquer Sri Lanka and Maldives.They brought under control a large part of Deccan.They also promoted self government.

What is a cholas?
A chola is a female of latin decent, who is one of the "homies." A typical chola wears alot of eye liner, dark lipstick, Ben Davis slacks (or Khakis) and has been known to wear their bangs feathered up (though this hairstyle has somewhat died out amongst today's cholas). Cholas are usually tough girls that can hold their own in a fight.Also the name of a medieval Tamil empire that ruled parts of South India, Sri Lanka, and Southeast Asia.
