This is a roots-style or twin screw supercharger. It has two impellers that have interlocking fins on them that force the air along the length of the charger case. This in turn increases the pressure in the air upping it two (in the case of the GTP) to about 6-15 psi depending on who you talk to. (Some people like to talk up their cars.)

It will have supercharged writen on the engine cover. or you can see the supercharger's snout sticking out the left side of the engine cover. and the loud whine the car makes when you floor it..lol
The old style "slim jim" doesn't work on the newer vehicles.
The supercharger will do this automatically. When cruising the supercharger vents pressure and the vehicle operates similar as though it is normally aspirated using much less fuel. If mileage drops off you might want to verify whether or not the bypass system is working.
