my husband is a mechanic. he said it is a rollover switch. it shuts off the fuel in case the car rolls over.
Pontiac Grand ams dont have an inertia switch, actually no GM cars that i know of have them.
They are programmed.
GM cars do not use inertia/reset switches.
Your Alero does not have one: they are usually found only on Ford cars.
on most cars, the inertia switch and reset is located under the passenger dashboard/firewall area. Look under and behind the glovebox.
A robot is usually defined as being able to perform tasks on its own. I car cannot perform tasks on it's own (usually, some new cars can do a few things e.g. parking itself) and is therefore not considered a robot.
I don't believe that GM used inertia switchs on their cars. That's Ford. GM uses a simpler, and better system. If there is no oil pressure, the fuel system wont turn on.
No, the 2000 Impala does not have an inertia switch for the fuel pump. Inertia switches are typically found in vehicles with a high center of gravity, like trucks and SUVs, to shut off the fuel pump in the event of a collision. In most cases, the fuel pump in a 2000 Impala is controlled by the vehicle's powertrain control module (PCM) and fuel pump relay.
A Ford has an inertia switch that shuts fuel pump off. Other cars unknown damage to electrical system.
We use transformation of energy in our daily life by converting electrical energy into light when we switch on a bulb, or converting chemical energy from food into mechanical energy for movement. Energy transformations are also utilized in devices like microwaves, cars, and phones to perform various tasks efficiently.
On most cars, the inertia switch is located in the trunk, near the side that the fill tube is located. It would take one heck of a bump to trigger the thing, though.
Rental cars typically do not come equipped with a kill switch.
