The water temperature should be near 76-78'F(24'-25'C). They can be in water as low as 72'F(22'C) and as high as 82'F(27'C) but 76-78'F (24'-25'C).is a safe place to keep the water temperature.

Yes. I have a Dinosaur Bichir in an African Cichlid community tank and it gets along very well. The only problem I have found is at feeding time. The African Cichlids sometimes get in such a frenzy that they eat most of the food before it gets down to the bottom.
