Slavery is the owning of one man or multiple people forever which happened mostly in the years of 1820 to 1857.Segregation is the different rights a black human and a white person had for example black people sat in the back of the bus while white people sat where ever they wanted mainly in the front.

Segregation existed in the North and the USA as a whole for decades after the Civil War.
