Its a good sign. Your hamster adores being petted by you.
It might have had a stroke, see a vet quick!
You do not want to put your hamster in water, it could drown. To give a hamster a ''bath'' you can use a barely damp wash cloth and stroke it down it's body.
Heat Stroke (or Sleeper's Disease as it is sometimes known) occurs when the temperature is too high. The hamster lies flat on the cage floor, is limp and may tremble when touched. Often the hamster will show some movement if you blow on it but if this does not revive it, the hamster should be placed in cooler area and allowed to gradually cool down. If the hamster shows no improvement within a few moments it may be necessary to gently spray the hamster with a fine mist of cool water. If the hamster still shows no improvement within a few moments urgent veterinary advice should be sought. A hamster should never be placed near a window or left in a car on a warm day as these are the most common cause heat stroke. A hamster suffering from heat stroke may also become dehydrated
If your hamster is jumpy and looking nervous then you should gently stroke it inside of it's cage and then feed it pieces of food out your hand then that way your hamster will come fond of your smell and will be used to you and when you handle it it wont be nervous no more.
To take care of a hamster in front of children first explain what the hamster is such as- this is a hamster- then explain how to be reacting around the hamster by stating- hamsters are good listeners so no loud noises around a hamster or you can hurt his or her ears. when you pet a hamster pet him or her with your pointer finger and stroke their back gently.explain how to care for them properly and what they eat and drink and what they don't eat and drink.
The real name of a teddy bear hamster is Syrian Hamster.Syrian Hamsters pretty much clean themselves, but if the pet really smells THAT bad, you can do this: Get a dust/sand bath materials and sprinkle it on top of your hamster. (Avoiding getting it into your hamsters face). Stroke the hamster to get as much dust off and he/she should look and smell better than ever.
Make sure your feeding the hamster right and giving it water everyday if your really unsure what to do then take your hamster to someone that knows them really well eg: vets and other places dont just let your hamster sit there in pain, also try stroking your hamster that might work but stroke it very gently and try holding it and look at it's body for any thing bad or anything strange. If you have a cold then it might be best if you stay away from the hamster because if a hamster catches a cold then it would be very ill and it might die just watch out for your hamster.
Just like you pet any other animal. Just stroke it's back. But some hamsters do bite so be careful.
Well, after taking your hamster straight to the vets, make sure he/she eats and drinks edible stuff with moisture, like peas or pear as that worked with my hamster. Make sure you follow the vets advise as well. Do not groom them too much and keep waking them up every 5 hours just to be safe. Lastly, show them some love!
yes its possible but the otherday i went to feed my hamster and when i went back in the evening her pouches were still full from when id fed her, i looked onto the internet and it said to stroke their cheek pouches over a basin to try and get them to spit the food out
my hamster did the same thing he cleaned his change really good and gave him new water and food and that helped for a little but he died the next weekend when i went camping so just keep out on the look for you hamster!
