replace the thing its faulty dont try do fix something you dont understand
check coolant temp sensor, the computer is still running on open loop, doesnt know engine is cold, unplug sensor, it should run the same, do you have check engine light on ??
Most likely the sensor is faulty, try replacing it.
Probably a bad idle air control valve.
Drain off about 2 qts of coolant from radiator petcock after engine has cooled. Unplug wire harness from sensor. Remove sensor with a counterclockwise motion. Coat new sensor with a thread sealant and install until snug. Reconnect harness and refill coolant reservoir. Recheck coolant level after useage.
It was the PCV vaule
Directly underneath the distributor, plugs into the end of the head. Almost can't see it until you remove the distributor.
It's kind of deceptive. Ignore the two bolts that are holding the electronic unit to the sensor and look around for a strange double-decker bolt that attaches the sensor to the transmission. Remove this bolt and twist the whole speed sensor until the gear disengages. It should then come free easily.
Replace the Gear Position Sensor on the transmission. Cost is approximately $350. There is a sensor on the brake that will prevent the gearshift from moving out of park until the brake is pressed down. Before you replace some $350 item in the transmission, make sure it isn't this sensor that is causing the issue.
remove the tire and rim and the sensor is located right behind the rotor.Make sure you disconnect your battery before removing the sensor and leave the battery disconnected until the new sensor is installed. I believe its a 10mm bolt and a simply unbolt it and unplug the wire harness on the sensor. Then plug the wire harness on the new one and bolt it back in.Then connect the battery back and your ready to go.
The 02 sensor is located on the exhaust header. The 4 pipes coming out of the engine towards the front of the car. Follow the pipes until they all meet and you will see the sensor screwed into the downpipe. The sensor also leaves a trail of wires leading off to the left of the car. To remove it, just use a wrench and some strength.
This is most likely a cold air idle valve which is stuck closed. This is located on the throttle body. You could take it off, clean it and reassemble it, or just pull one out of the junk yard, they usually don't go bad until 200000+ miles.
I am not familiar with a multiplex, but if you are referring to the instrument cluster then yes the computer will store your mileage. If it is the speed sensor that is the problem then no.
