Skin color is a trait which is controlled by at least 7 different genes. That may not be surprising if you look at all the people with whom you come into contact. Some are very black, some very white, many in between. Those of African descent are variable in color, as are individuals from India, Mexico, and so on.
Of course, the exception, the gene for albinism is a single gene.

There are at least three different genes, each with multiple alleles, that determine eye color in humans. Polygenic traits don't follow patterns of mendelian inheritance.
