There are many in puts to an abs system that will cause the abs light to come on.Wheel speed sensors and broken wires at the wheel speed sensors are common.Other inputs are vehicle speed,brake sytem pressure,abs motor malfunction,internal abs controller malfunction.A quality scan tool is the best way to diagnose abs problems,the system will set codes if the light is coming on.A code reader may be able to point you in the direction of the problem.A scan tool alows you to run certain tests on the components.
