• Ezekiel chapter 28, because of its florid and apocalyptic language, is a better fit. However, a careful reading still shows that the prophet is talking about the King of Tyre and about Sidon. The prophet is writing of the past, projecting into his story events that he knew to have happened subsequently. Thus, the strangers in Ezekiel 28:7 were the Chaldeans led by Nebuchadnezzar. Verses 13 and 14 are sarcastic references to the Jewish Garden of Eden, because of King Ithobalus' high opinion of himself.
