If you walk into Walmart, KMart, or any auto parts store and ask for a battery for a 2000 Dodge intrepid, they'll show you which ones fit your car. Generally, for more money, you'll get a better battery, like one that has gel instead of liquid, which stands up better to extremem temperature changes and is more high performance. I use a champion battery because it costed less. It's been a year- so far so good. What it really comes down to is- How many cylinders and what displacement is your engine? That tells you how many cold cranking amps you need to turn your engine. The rest is quality of manufacture issues and price.
I have a 2000 intrepid so I think it is the same. You have to take off passenger side wheel. There is a panel toward the front of the car that you must remove and the battery is behind it on a little tray.
Not sure about 2002, but on a 2004 intrepid, you have to take right front tire off. There is a panel in the wheel well that you use to access the battery.
Not positive about the 2000, but in my 1999 they had to take off the front passenger tire to change the battery.
You take the old one out and put the new one in.
Red, 5 year, HOAT type.
yes sorry
The leak detection pump switch on your Dodge Intrepid is located beneath the battery. If you can not locate this on your own, it may be best to have a licensed mechanic take a look at it.
You need to remove passenger tire and take out the plastic door in frt of wheel well. You then will have access to battery and connections
