What type of a circuit do flashlights use?

A flashlight is a series circuit. The batteries positive end connects to the flashlights switch. The switch connects to the center pin of the light bulb. The bulb filament is connected to the center pin of the bulb and the outer metal shell of the bulb socket. The shell of the bulb socket is connected to the metal flashlight's body which returns to the negative end of the battery. Turn on the switch and you have light.

The negative pole in a flashlight battery?

the negative pole of cylindrical batteries is the smooth end.

What are everyday uses of series circuits?

Your battery-powered flashlight is a good example of a DC series circuit. Battery power is DC. The battery is connected to a wire or piece of metal that's connected to a switch that is connected to an incandescent light bulb (resistor/thermistor) which is then connected to another piece of metal or wire which is connected to usually a spring in the end of the flashlight which creates a ground to the negative terminal of the battery.

What type of metal can dig into a tree?

the type of metal on the end of an axe

What is an complete circuit?

A circuit is complete whenever current can flow from the battery (or what is producing current), through the circuit, and back to the battery. A complete circuit could contain just a battery and one wire. An incomplete circuit could be a battery with a wire attached to just one terminal, because current cannot flow all the way through the circuit in this case (i.e. cannot flow through the battery). note: not all elements in a circuit may have current flow in a complete circuit. For instance, a light bulb may be shorted but you still have a complete circuit.

Where can you find a how to on building a VERY powerful electromagnet with any normal battery?

You coil wire around something round 100+ times, then stick one end of the wire on the + of the battery and the other end on the - of the battery. Start attracting metal!

How can you charge your phone battery if you dont have a charger?

I had to make a phone call from my car and the Cell phone battery went dead . I had a cigarette lighter variable charger cable and set it on 3 volts. Then I stuck a pin in the positive side hole of the cable end . I took the battery out found the positive and touched it with the positive Pin I had stuck in the cigarette lighter positive cable end hole I took another wire connected it to the outer end of the metal cable end and touched the negative of the battery just enough to make a phone call . You can also charge a cell phone battery with two 1.5 volt flashlight batteries in series ,a couple wires and scotch , tape .if you understand polarities

If you took a laptop fan out of a laptop is there any way you can make it spin with a battery?

It might work using a single cell, like a flashlight cell, or you may have to connect several together, end to end. If it says on the fan case that it is 12v, that is 12 volts, and it should run on a regular 9-volt battery.

How can I jump start my automobile battery?

Connect the red cable to the dead battery's positive post and then connect the other end of the red cable to the good battery's postive post. Then connect one end of the black cable to the negative post of the good battery and the other end to a piece of unpainted metal in the engine compartment of the dead battery's car. Then wait 2-3 minutes and try to start the car.

Does electricity flow more than 1 pathway?

An electric current is usually thought of as a flow of electrons. When two ends of a battery are connected to each other by means of a metal wire, electrons flow out of one end (electrode or pole) of the battery, through the wire, and into the opposite end of the battery.

Can i light a light bulb with a battery and a paper clip?

Yes, if your battery has the capacity to match the light bulbs requirements. A 1.5volt "AA" battery cannot supply enough power to light a 60watt bulb. A flashlight that uses a single battery will have a bulb small enough to be powered by a small battery and a paper-clip as a conductor. A low voltage LED may also be used. Touch one end of the battery to one terminal on the bulb, and connect the other end of the battery to the other terminal using the clip. (you may find it helpful to use tape to hold it all together)

What does plus end of AA battery mean?

If you look closely to a battery there are two symbols. (+) and (-) Batteries have chemical energy both positive and negative. and a battery compartment has a spring and a metal surface. they each conclude different energies ( + and -) so the plus sign of a Battery means positive
