Any oil that meets SAE specifications. Look for the engineering specifications on the top of the can, but generally any of the commercially available oils meet the specifications.
Use whatever oil has been in the vehicle in the past.
How old is the vehicle? If the engine has a lot of miles on it there has probably been some wear on the babbit bearings. If the oil pressure is down you need to use a slightly higher viscosity. Otherwise, use the lowest viscosity that you can.
One thing to remember is to make sure what has always been in it is the right oil. My S-10 Blazer has the remote oil sending unit and calls for 5W/30 only. I am assuming this is because the oil travels so far from under the truck to the oil filter located up around the engine.
Dextron III
A NAPA 1040 or the NAPA 1036 will do.
A Chevrolet Blazer with a 4.3 liter vortec engine will take approximately 6 quarts of oil. The recommended type of oil is 5 W 30.
This should have said 5 qrts.
There are many oil seals in that vehicle, need to know which ones you changed.
It depends on the climate but a 5W-30 works in most cases.
No.
No, it will not fit, you need a Purolator PL24011
5 QTS. with new filter.
from the front of you blazer under the bumper you will see an access point for you oil filter and it will be writen on the pannel "acces to oil filter" you will prob. need that also about 15" to the rear of truck you will see the oil pan it is on the rear side of the silver colored oil pan.
It depends on your climate but in most cases a 5W-30 works fine.
