Flush engine. Allow car to idle. Remove sump plug and let it drain. Remove filter with jaw type oil filter wrench. Replace existing filter with a quality z9 filter, mostly used on ea falcon.
There is no oil filter bracket. It uses a spin on type oil filter.
The manufacturer recommends 10W-30 weight oil for the 2005 Ford Falcon. A heavier oil can be used in extreme climates.

use an oil filter remover, i find the strap type that uses a ratchet works best, the chain type distroys the filter and you get oil everywhere
The oil filter for a 98 Olds Regency is on the side of the engine. The filter is a screw on type.
If the car is a 01 or 02 with the 3.5l engine then the oil filter is located in the oil pan. If you look directly at the bottom of the oil pan you will see a black plastic cap (about 3" around). This is the oil filter cover. Remove this cover by unscrewing it ( counter clockwise - using a cup type oil filter wrench ) . The oil filter is in side this cap and is a cartridge type. ( it looks more like a fuel filter than an oil filter.
oil filter is on top of engine, your wll need a 32mm socket to unscrew plastic housing by intake manifold, filter is cartidge type, not metal screw on type.
