In general, the dominant trees are silver birch, with many evergreens lower down, especially Norway spruce. Mountain ash / rowan are seen right up to the tree line.
The noteworthy shrubs are rhododendrons, blueberries and cloud berries.
Ground cover is a mixture of grass, heather and ferns.
North of the arctic circle trees still grow, but many are only 50cm high.
South of the line Oslo-Bergen many of the standard species from Northern Germany are found. Rye and maize are grown.
