The US Army utilized the man portable (back pack) PRC25. It came with both the whip and fishing pole type antennas. A 2 to 3 times larger version equipped with more capabilities was mounted in tanks and ACAVs. Those radios also utilized more antennas which identified the commander's tank or ACAV.
Its the PRC25 which is supposed to be represented in all of the Viet War films, such as Hamburger Hill, Platoon, Full Metal Jacket, Apocalypse Now, etc.

Some people with autism may not speak at all, but that doesn't mean they have nothing to say. They can learn to communicate by signing. Or even using a computer app. Hearing people can sign even if they can't communicate with words. Or some might learn how to type on a computer to communicate.
That depends on what type of handheld radio you're using. They do make handheld CB radios. They have both 40 channel handhelds, and single channel handhelds (some of which may actually be three channel with the purchase of additional radio crystals). The single channel handhelds typically use Channel 14 as a default. FM radios, such as those used in FMRS, GMRS, Business Radio, emergency services, etc. do not use the same frequencies as CB radios, and cannot communicate with them.
Some brands of console radios include Dobbie Radiophone, The Citizen, The Milan, Gylling, Astor, Korting, RCA Victor, Zenith, and Atwater Kent. Many of these type of radios are vintage radios and the companies are no longer around.
