The special sockets that should be used with an air impact wrench is a socket that has been designed with a spring steel that will act as a torsion spring. A special socket is needed in order to take advantage of the impact's wrench inability to work against a spring.

The sockets used for impact duty (called "impact sockets") are made with thicker walls and tempered to a lower hardness so as not to shatter under the impacts of the impact tool.
An Ingersoll Rand Impact Wrench is a type of impact wrench (a wrench that makes the maximum output be used by minimal exertion by the user) produced by the company Ingersoll Rand.
This will dpend on the type of vehicle you have,as engines do vary. Generally speaking a socket wrench should work for changing your spark plugs.
Just a basic socket set SAE or metric depending on car.

A torque wrench should not be used on any hitch type.
This is normally done with an impact wrench... a type of air tool. The impact wrench can tighten the pulley without turning the crank. You can probably rent a compressor and an impact wrench with sockets from your local tool rental company.

When you are looking from the side of the van, at the front of the motor with the belt, it will be the second pulley from the left near the top of the motor. It is a spring loaded type which requires you to pull against the spring so you can install the belt. I use a good socket wrench with a 1' extension (3/8" socket wrench will fit in the square hole you can see in the tensioner arm) and a large enough box wrench to fit over the socket wrench handle to help get the needed leverage with one hand, and because of the limited space you have to position the socket wrench.
The sockets are standard sockets, just like any ratchet wrench. It's the handle that's special, with some type of gauge to indicate how hard you're twisting it.
May only be able to fit in an open end wrench.
